Floating Docks

Residential Floating Docks

The residential floating dock is an asset for the banks with a steep descent that quickly exceed 8 feet deep. Its installation requires a minimum depth of 2 feet in order to prevent wear of the floats.

To ensure the stability of a residential floating dock, you must have a fixed departure with a width of 6 feet or more and a good anchor to the bank.

Due to its construction, the residential floating dock is heavy. Installation thus requires the workforce of 4 to 8 men, a dedicated mechanical system or suitable vehicle for both manoeuvre (in and out of the water).

For the residential floating dock, we do not recommend the attachment of a boat lift. The movement of waves and high winds influence the movement of the platform, which increases the chances of collisions between the boat, the dock and boat lift.

The chains that are used to support the platform must be adjusted with the changing level of the water. When the level rises, the chains should be lengthened and when the level drops, they should be shortened.

Our company also offers a swimming raft. It is attached to the residential floating dock to free a space between the platform and the bank. The play area becomes separate from the relaxation zone. The swimming raft is ideal for parents seeking rest wishing to keep an eye on their children. It is also convenient for diving, water skiing and swimming.

Commercial floating docks

The commercial floating dock is the most recommended product for marinas due to its great resistance.

The fixed departure of the commercial floating dock and its anchoring are key aspects which, if done carefully, makes installation much more efficient.

The chains that are used to support the platform must be adjusted with the changing level of water. When the level rises, the chains should be lengthened and when the level drops, they should be shortened.

For this type of platform, you have to consider the water currents, the prevailing winds, the amount, the weight and the types of boats which will be moored to the platform.

At Au Quai Service, our team can take care of all that for you!
